Crane rental, sales and trading company Sin Heng Heavy Machinery in Singapore has placed an order for its 600th crane from Kobelco Construction Machinery in Japan.

It takes the record as the largest number cranes supplied to any Kobelco distributor worldwide, according to Yamamoto Akira, Kobelco CMCo president and CEO. Akira was speaking at a landmark ceremony to celebrate the order. According to the company, 鈥淭his milestone highlights a decades-long partnership built on innovation, reliability, and mutual growth.鈥

Sin Heng bought its first Kobelco crane in 2004, then marked its 100th unit in 2010 and the order for its 500th unit, from the Japanese manufacturer, in late 2016.

Among the reasons for choosing Kobelco cranes Sin Heng listed quality, durability and good resale value. On the last point, depreciation affects a company鈥檚 financial performance, so slower depreciation 鈥渆nhances our financial stability and allows us to reinvest continually in our operations,鈥 Sin Heng said.

Also commenting at the order signing ceremony Miyashita Takeshi, Kobelco general manager of international crane business, said, 鈥淚 am delighted that we were able to successfully celebrate this occasion today, however, it has not been an easy story to achieve 600 units. Both Sin Heng and Kobelco Construction Machinery are standing in a hard circumstance of the global competition. It is essential for us to continue tough discussion and collaboration in order to survive in the market and achieve the next 700 units.鈥

Singapore-based heavy lifting services provider Sin Heng Heavy Machinery said it concentrates on the mid-to-high lifting capacity segment often on larger projects. Customers are primarily in infrastructure, groundwork, construction, marine, oil and gas industries. Its cranes are usually rented with an operator. Project engineering services are a growing segment of the business. Sin Heng鈥檚 new and used crane trading business also includes spare parts supply.
